Hey Jojo, this bead is awsome- I can see using this with a necklace with pearls, silver chain, yellow jade and red coral - I know you put a lot of time into this - it's beautiful!

Hey you guys, I am looking for a way to organize my stash of beads and findings other than stackable plastic boxes. I have a metal 6 drawer chest thats a nice size. About 11" wide x 16" in depth x 30" high (not exact). It's a great size and I think…

Actually, I was looking for help! But I'll put my two cents in. First, as I looked at the pics of the work spaces some brave souls were willing to share, I realized we're all a little nuts! We all surround ourselves with the stuff we love! So much s…

About Me
I've always been making "something". As a kid I held nature craft workshops during the summer in my dad's garage for neighbor kids. I think I charged 25 cents a class so I could buy nail polish. I have a wonderful husband, very supportive and grounding about what ever I want to do. My son is a sophmore in college and my daughter is 13, going on 20. Guess she's normal. My 84 year old dad, who has increasing memory loss, lives with us. I'm blessed to have the opportunity to care for him as he cared for me as a child - guess it could be called "pay it forward". Though I don't like to play the card game rummy any more. We live outside a small town in Indiana. We have four chickens, 6 rabbits for 4-H showing at the county fair, 3 dogs (2 are my dads), and a cat. We also have 3 deer that travel through our yard 2 times a day. My husband and I own a business doing screenprinting and embroidery on clothing - I get to create designs to imprint on clothing and my husband and I get work together! Life is good!
How many years have you been designing jewelry?
I have been making lampwork glass beads for about 10 years and jewelry for about 6 years. I love to do this! I am currently pulling together a selection of brass filigree findings and custom finishing them myself - didn't know what I was getting into - it's addicting to custom finish these wonderful brass findings! I am also hand dying ribbon to use to make jewelry. I hope to have these findings, ribbon and beads, as well as jewelry, on my website and Etsy soon. I've been researching and purchasing for almost a year!
What is your favorite jewelry store?
I don't really have a favorite.
Did you go to school to learn jewelry design?
No, I didn't go to jewelry design school. I have a degree in interior and graphic design. I've worked for home builders designing sale offices, worked as a graphic artist and for the past 16 years been doing custom designs for our screen printined garment business.
Do you have a favorite jewelry designer (other then yourself...)
I admire the work of Heidi Hale and Connie Fox.

Well I hope all that works out for you. I have my stuff in craft containers and stacked in a bookbag that has wheels and a luggage pull. This way whenever I go camping or to my boyfriend's I can take it with me. I have some table top stuff for my desk to keep me organized but not much. I made a trash can out of a large butter container and just went to a rubbermaid outlet today and got a table top set of drawers for my tools and wire spools. I'm on the work area and work bench group, you can see pics of my workspace there. It's not a single car garage though I wish it were! You're so lucky to have that much room. Well good luck on your endeavors and enjoy your quiet time. Lord knows I could use some of it. Take care!

Hey there. I saw your comment on the jewelry workspace and I wanted to tell you that I had seen someone using a nuts and bolts organizer that I thought was REALLY smart. I attached a pic as an aexample of what I Mean but in the pic it's actually being used for nuts and bolts. You can go to any hardware shop I'm sure or handyman shop and find a small one to sit on your desk or workbench.
