You need to heat the ingot mold and I would recommend carbonizing the inside plates of the ingot mold before clamping them together. Gauge the width of the ingot mold by how much metal you are melting. It will take experience before you figure it o…

Thanks! This was a commission for a brooch using the clients stone. I also designed a fixture that allowed her to easily convert it into a pendant. She was very pleased. The silver body was repoussed and chased with applied forged and filed accents.
