The bar mold will only make ingots for wire,

Here is a video that someone has made. They are using a bent iron coat hanger to stir the molten metal and show some of the problems that occur during the pour.

You need to heat the ingot mold and I would recommend carbonizing the inside plates of the ingot mold before clamping them together.

Thanks! This was a commission for a brooch using the clients stone. I also designed a fixture that allowed her to easily convert it into a pendant. She was very pleased. The silver body was repoussed and chased with applied forged and filed accents.
Outstanding !
These reflect my current body of work and my exploration into this type of design. I collect and wear brooches and feel they are a perfect canvas for my designs and experimentation. Metalwork is fun!
